Festival 2016

Sports and family day,!!
Hello friends
We are looking for any one in the parish and surrounding areas who may be interested In taking a slot at our craft and food fair on Sunday 3rd July during our*** festival on the suir ***
in Golden Gaa field!! Just €20 for your stall and it’s a great way of making a few €€€€€ for yourself!! So if you bake bread/ tarts / buns/ novelty cakes /jams / chutneys etc

Maybe You make jewellery/scarfs/knitwear or indeed if you have plants / shrubs etc to sell we would be delighted to have you on the day!! If you sell makeup / perfumes etc a slot is available for you!!!
Ladies might like to de clutter their wardrobe /bag selection/footwear and make a few €€€€ doing so!! Well worth thinking about!!!

Timber cutting !!!
Help is needed again this year for timber splitting so please come on down to the old creamery in Golden Village and bring a hatchet with you if possible!! Saturdays 12pm to 2pm and Tuesday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm!!

Festival News

Preparations for the 2016 ** Festival On The Suir ** are well under way!!

June 30th to July 3rd are our dates this year!!

Our bottle bank committee Evelyn Hally & Elizabeth Hayes would welcome any spare bottles u may have like wine ..vodka ..cans..etc for their event!! Bottles can be given directly to the ladies!!

Trish Noonan and Alice o Neill are asking you all to please consider entering your dog in their dog show this year!!!! Brilliant prizes for this event!! It’s proving to be one of our more popular events which the two ladies are very proud of!!

We will again have 3 weekends away to raffle during festival so try ur luck for just €2 !!!

**Quacks on the track**

Our 1500 ducks are heading to dry land this year with a **24 hour duck marathon **

around our Gaa track

Cards will be on sale very soon from the juvenile gaa club and the idea is u buy a duck for €2 and  on fri 1st July from 8 pm to sat 2nd July at 8pm. A 24 hour duck marathon will take place with someone walking on the gaa track with one of the ducks during this time morning noon & nite!!! Just one round of the track is all u need do!!!

Novel idea and guaranteed great Craic so please buy a duck and get in to the spirit of things!!

Club Membership Reminder

Reminder to all **club membership **is now due and should be paid to treasurer Michael Stapleton .
€50 family membership
€20 single membership
€10 student
€20 social membership for the use of the walk.
All of the above is used to pay the public liability & lights around the field!!
Public liability alone costs the club €5000 yearly!!

Work has commenced on the new entrance which is brilliant to see!!
All money from the parish lotto and the bingo  will help to pay for the new building!!
The Gaa Club would like to thank all the people of the parish and surrounding areas for their continuing support !! Without you this building would not be possible!!!

GAA News

Congrats to our u21 footballers & mentors on a great win over Moycarkey Borris in the county semi final in Clonmel last sat evening.
Preparations are well under way for co final in a few weeks!
Our junior B hurlers had their first match if the year and were unlucky to loose to Emly by a few points. Hopefully more players will be available to manager Eamonn Carr and selector Seanie o Halloran for next match against Arravale Rovers
